As i said in my introduction post, in the process of my journey towards conceiving i have encountered problems with thyroid.

Thyroid is not new to me, i was born with thyroid.

Thyroid was identified in my body when i was 3 months old, my mother observed that i was not active and reactive after my birth so my relatives have suggested for an thyroid test and test result showed that i have thyroid and my mother also got tested for thyroid test and she also have thyroid.

It was in 1990's where there was no awareness on thyroid and there was no proper monitoring on thyroid.

I always have an irregular periods after i got matured it was not a big problem before marriage but it became a major concern for me to get conceive.

During the initial days after my marriage we were not seriously planning for a baby, but after completing 1 year we were not sure why we were not getting succeed.

So after doing some research in internet we came to know that to get success, menstrual cycle should be regular. One of my family member suggested one doctor where she asked me to go for a thyroid test and I have come to know that my thyroid level is high.

To make my thyroid levels lower we preferred homeopathy medicines due to positive feedback from my relatives. We have consulted one specialist in homeopathy and after explaining my situation he has suggested 3 months course for medicines.

Within 3 months my thyroid levels came to normal and my menstrual cycle became regular, we have tried naturally for 6 months but there was no positive result in terms of conceiving.

So answer to the question, Can thyroid effect pregnancy is yes as thyroid will make menstrual cycle irregular and due to that the chances of conceiving reduces to some extent.

Next i have revisited the same doctor.
